BEGINNERS FLY FISHING COURSE - FULL DAY - £180

• The most popular of my fly fishing courses.

• Usually held on a Yorkshire Dales stillwater, but can be held on the river if you wish.

• Understanding fly fishing tackle.

• All fly fishing tackle provided.

• In-depth fly casting lesson including roll cast, overhead cast, shooting line for distance, casting in windy conditions, false casting, etc.

• Fly fishing knots and their uses.

• Fly fishing techniques.

• Detecting 'the take', striking, playing and landing trout.

• Releasing and/or dispatching trout properly.

• Flies used when fly fishing.

• Reference notes provided to take away.

• Ladies and children welcome.

• One to one tuition unless you want to bring a friend or relative.

• A good foundation onto which you can build your own fly fishing skills.

• Gift certificates available.

BEGINNERS FLY FISHING COURSE - HALF DAY "TASTER" - £115

• All Fly fishing tackle provided.

• Held on a Yorkshire Dales stillwater.

• Learn the basic fly casting skills.

• Understanding fly fishing tackle.

• Fly fishing and hopefully catching a trout or two.

• Ladies and children welcome.

• One to one tuition unless you want to bring a friend or relative.

• Try fly fishing for half a day as part of your holiday in the Yorkshire Dales.

• Not sure fly fishing is for you???

2/3 DAY BEGINNER OR IMPROVER FLY FISHING COURSES - £180 PER DAY

• Day one as the "Full Day Beginners Fly fishing Course".

• Day two continues where day one finished.

• More in-depth fly casting tuition.

• Learn more fly fishing techniques.

• Learn how to fly fish from a boat.

• Try river fly fishing.

• This fly fishing course can be tailored to whatever you want to do.

• Accommodation can be arranged

I teach beginners the basics of fly fishing and fly casting sympathetically and at a pace to suit each person. All tuition and courses can be tailored to suit the individual, or you can design your own course to cover whatever you want. If you can't see it here please ask!

RIVER FLY FISHING COURSE - FULL DAY/S - £180 PER DAY

• Usually held on the River Wharfe at Bolton Abbey.

• Aimed at those who fish stillwaters and want to try river fly fishing, those anglers that fish rivers but have never had instruction from a river 'specialist', or those anglers who think they are not catching their share of the fish when fishing a river.

• Ladies and older children welcome.

• One to one tuition unless you want to bring a friend or relative.

• All tackle and flies provided, including waders.

• Course covers:- wet fly fishing (North Country Spiders), the 'Duo' and 'Trio', upstream nymph, Czech nymphing and dry fly fishing.

• Rivercraft.

• River specific fly casting if required e.g. Spey casting and roll casting.

• Reference notes to take away with instructions for each method and leader setups.

• Flies for Yorkshire rivers and other rainfed rivers explained.

• Courses can be run through autumn and winter with grayling fishing (some of the above methods might not be possible in winter).
